The Access Housing Advisory Committee of Tenants (ACT) has kicked off remote duties this month!
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Access Housing put all face-to-face tenant engagement activities, including ACT meetings, on hold until further notice.
Access Housing recognises that this is a difficult time for many and that providing ways for tenants to have their say about our services and staying connected is more important than ever. In line with this, the ACT will continue their work via email until we can recommence face-to-face groups.
The ACT members will share their views on two discussion topics each month via email. Access Housing will collate the ACT’s feedback and incorporate and action tenant advice wherever possible.
Earlier this month, Access Housing’s General Manager Community Housing Natalie Sangalli met with the ACT Chair and Deputy Chair via video call to determine the May meeting’s discussion topics. Natalie will also continue to be involved in email discussions and decision making with all ACT members.
The topics for discussion this month relate to how Access Housing should further communicate with tenants about COVID-19 related amendments to the WA Residential Tenancies Act. The ACT will also be discussing how Access Housing communicates with tenants about their rental and water accounts.
Access Housing is looking forward to working with the ACT throughout the month of May and will be reporting on the work of the ACT at the end of the month.
