Tenants move in to new South West seniors homes

18 May 2017

Construction of Access Housing’s nine new over 55s villas at Boyanup is now complete.

Tenants commenced moving into their new homes today, which were developed to give local seniors the option to ‘right size’ and remain in their home town as they grow older.

The new villas at Boyanup form part of Access Housing’s Royalties for Regions funded South West Ageing in Place Housing Pilot projects that also include the construction of 14 new seniors villas at Dardanup (10 minutes north of Boyanup). The Dardanup villas are due for completion next month.

Three existing seniors units at the Boyanup site will also benefit from modern refurbishments.

The new South West Ageing in Place Housing Pilot project homes range in size from 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom units to 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom units and feature high quality fittings and finishes. The homes also include special Liveable Housing Design features to suit residents’ abilities and changing needs.

Twelve of the 26 units will be made available for sale to local seniors, with sales proceeds used to fund another seniors housing project in the South West. Access Housing will retain 14 units for affordable rental purposes.

Local seniors can register their interest to purchase or rent one of the units by contacting Access Housing’s South West office on 9722 7200.
