Access Housing is pleased to announce it has completed construction of 14 new seniors’ villas at Dardanup in the state’s South West.
The Dardanup project is the second housing development Access Housing has completed in the region through its Royalties for Regions funded South West Ageing in Place Housing Pilot project, which is delivering affordable housing options for seniors seeking to stay in their home town as they grow older.
The South West Ageing in Place Housing Pilot project has delivered 23 new homes for over 55s, including nine new villas at Thomas Street, Boyanup. Three existing units at the Boyanup site are also undergoing modern refurbishments before again being made available to local seniors.
The new villas at Boyanup and Trusty Place, Dardanup range in size from 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom to 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom and feature high quality fittings and finishes. The homes also include special Liveable Housing Design features to suit residents’ abilities and changing needs.
The South West Ageing in Place Housing Pilot project was made possible by a $4.87 million investment through the State Government’s Royalties for Regions program. Access Housing purchased the land and, together with project expenses, invested $1.5 million into the developments.
Twelve of the 26 units are available for sale to local seniors, with sales proceeds used to fund another seniors housing project in the South West. Access Housing will retain 14 units for affordable rental purposes.
Local seniors can register their interest to purchase or rent one of the units by contacting Access Housing’s South West office on 9722 7200 or by contacting Magna Realty on 6555 7599.
