Some of our artistically talented tenants joined with Access Housing staff today to officially launch the Access Housing Tenant Art Display.
Tenants who contributed creative pieces to exhibit enjoyed a light lunch and mingled with fellow tenants and Access Housing staff to discuss and celebrate the art on display at Access Housing’s head office at Rivervale. Works exhibited included paintings, pyrography, sculptured furniture, photography and bottle top art.
The event also included discussions about future art projects that are for tenants and designed by tenants. Artists in attendance expressed an interest in running a tenant exhibit in a local gallery to bring their art into the community. There was also excitement from the group to work in partnership with each other to produce collaborative pieces and to provide workshops for other Access Housing tenants to share their passion and skills with others.
The company will be showcasing tenant artwork in a rotating display at our Rivervale headquarters and encouraging more tenants to get involved in art to improve their mental health, wellbeing and social connectedness.
If you are an Access Housing tenant that would like to contribute some of your artistic pieces for future displays, or if you would like to participate in discussions with other tenants about Access Housing’s broader Tenant Art Initiative, please contact our Creating Choices Officer Alex Kepes on 9430 0900.
Access Housing extends its thanks to Bunnings Warehouse in Belmont, The Butcher Shop in Northbridge and Fremantle and Art and Craft World in Morley for their generous support of our Tenant Art Display.
