Access Housing commenced a three year relationship with beyondblue in 2016 that sees an annual donation made on behalf of Access Housing’s Board of Directors, who collectively donate their Directors’ Meeting Fees to a range of charities and charitable initiatives in lieu of personal payment.

“Access Housing manages a significant portfolio of supported tenancies, with a number of our properties being specialised housing for individuals who have a severe and persistent mental health condition,” Mr Ellender said.

“Approximately 20% of our tenant base identifies as living with a mental health condition, so an alignment with one of Australia’s leading mental health organisations, beyondblue, complements the work we do to assist these tenants to sustain their tenancy and improve their quality of life.”

Access Housing’s support of beyondblue is one of several charitable company initiatives. The company has made annual donations of $5,000 over the past three years to the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which are used to assist more than 120 seriously ill children to take part in the Starlight Express Room program each year. The company also provides annual contributions to Activ Foundation via the Perth City to Surf Fun Run, to St Vincent de Paul Society via their annual CEO Sleepout and to numerous frontline homelessness support service organisations in WA during Homeless Person’s Week by way of donated swags.

Access Housing is proud to be a socially responsible organisation that is committed to making a difference to people’s lives beyond its provision of affordable housing.
