Access Housing on display at 2017 National Housing Conference

22 Nov 2017

Access Housing will have a strong presence at this year’s National Housing Conference in Sydney, with a delegation of seven staff attending to complement the company’s specialist session presenter, exhibition booth and awards nominees.

The biennial National Housing Conference, which is convened by the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute, is the largest social and affordable housing event in Australasia. More than 1,000 delegates from across Australia, New Zealand and further afield are expected to attend the conference at the brand new International Convention Centre from Wednesday 29 November – Friday 1 December.

This year’s conference is themed ‘Building for better lives’ and will provide attendees with the opportunity to contribute to, and remain informed of, the pressing issues, opportunities, innovations and ideas within the housing sector.

Day one of the conference will culminate with the 2017 Australasian Housing Institute Professional Excellence in Housing Awards reception dinner. Access Housing’s delegation will be in attendance to support our IT Manager Tony Benson and our environmentally sustainable housing development at White Gum Valley that have been nominated for Australasian awards following their success at the WA awards ceremony earlier this year.

Access Housing Project Manager Ralton Benn will form part of an expert panel on day two of the conference when he presents at a workshop about energy efficiencies in housing. The ‘Energising low income housing – energy innovation in practice’ session will see him join other presenters to discuss how housing can become more energy efficient and ways to reduce energy costs for tenants, housing providers and home owners. Ralton is Access Housing’s Project Manager for our award winning SHAC development at White Gum Valley, which features an embedded solar energy network.

We will also be showcasing our services and achievements throughout the event at booth 25 in the exhibition precinct. If you are attending the conference, please swing past Access Housing’s exhibition booth to say hello, help yourself to some free giveaways and learn more about one of Western Australia’s leading providers of affordable housing.
