Neil Starkie, Interim Chief Executive Officer
Neil joined Access Housing in February 2020 following more than six years as General Manager of Uniting Church in the City (UCIC) in Perth.
In his senior leadership role with UCIC, Neil was responsible for providing leadership and management in the areas of property development, support services and social outreach, finance, human resources, risk, administration, asset management, marketing, communications and policy.
Prior to joining UCIC, Neil spent the latter 13 of his 25 years in the UK property industry as a Director with global property consultancy Savills. In 2000, Neil was appointed to set up, lead and develop Savills’ UK Midlands industrial agency and development department in Birmingham. Neil’s team was responsible for providing advice to nationally and internationally recognised organisations like Coca-Cola, BAE, HJ Heinz, WH Smith / Smiths News and the UK’s highest profile developers and investing institutions. His team also provided a broad range of services to national and local government, from transactional to analytical research to inform planning policy and land allocation.
Coupled with his astute commercial expertise, Neil has a deep and long held passion for assisting and supporting disadvantaged and less fortunate members of the community.
Neil is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a number of voluntary board and committee positions with charitable and benevolent organisations operating in the Perth metropolitan area.
Lyn Brun, General Manager Corporate Services
Lyn undertakes and oversees strategic level and business development research and analysis in order to explore new business opportunities and understand our existing services in more detail. In addition to this, Lyn also manages Access Housing’s Corporate Communications activities and administration, Human Resources and IT teams.
Prior to joining Access Housing in 2013 Lyn held a range of teaching, research, project management and leadership roles across Queensland and Western Australia.
Lyn holds a Bachelor of Education and Master of Education and is a graduate of AICD.
Ian Aiyathurai, Chief Financial Officer
Ian’s appointment as Access Housing CFO in April 2013 was pivotal in transforming the financial and corporate services areas of the business, which has provided a solid foundation for the company’s next period of growth.
Ian joined Access Housing with more than 15 years of applied financial experience with General Electric (GE) in the Healthcare, Oil and Gas, Consumer and Industrial and Corporate sectors where he held Director, CFO and other leadership roles with responsibilities across ANZ, Asia Pacific and the US. His achievements with GE included the setting up of business operations and high performance teams in diverse industry sectors.
Ian holds a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting from the University of Texas and is a graduate of the prestigious GE Experienced Finance Leadership Program (EFLP). He has also completed US and UK professional accounting qualifications.
Natalie Sangalli, General Manager Community Housing
Natalie joined Access Housing in May 2018 to lead our Community Housing department, overseeing tenancy management, operational policy and program development.
Natalie has a strong background in project management, contract management and program development across government and the private sector with a focus on visible and measurable outcomes.
Prior to joining Access Housing, Natalie spent 16 years working in the justice system. One of Natalie’s defining achievements was leading a strategic project to develop a dedicated rehabilitation prison, including a full operating model and commercial contract in WA that effectively reduced the young adult male recidivism rate from over 40% to under 30%.
Natalie’s passion for positive social change will maintain Access Housing at the forefront of affordable housing advocacy and her energetic leadership style and commitment to collaborative working will drive a committed, efficient and effective service model for our clients.
Duane Moroney, General Manager Property Assets
Duane leads our Property Assets division and oversees all aspects of Access Housing’s property development activities including strategic asset management, driving the growth and diversification of the company’s property portfolio and evaluating and initiating new business opportunities to further assist portfolio growth.
Duane has more than 30 years’ experience in the property and finance sectors within both private and government enterprises. He has an extensive background in property development, project and program management, sales, marketing and product innovation.
With a lifelong passion for property and the drive to assist low income Western Australians into stable, affordable accommodation through delivering quality affordable housing developments, Duane has assisted Access Housing to secure its position as provider and partner of choice for government and private industry investors since joining the company in 2014.
